I still cannot believe that after all these years and in the age of android and apple and samsung and iphones etc etc the manufacturers have not got a tick box to actually turn on the error messages etc. We have had pc trainers for a hell of a lot longer than these and there is no excuse for not doing this. The reason I know it is not done is because the GPX files that are sent have all the available power data always including zero power. If the power was present then when you actually get to the line data it is zero power. This is despite the fact that when the power is zero it is shown as a brown line. This is clearly a result of the error messages not being turned on and when the power box is actually ticked the power data is shown as a green line. It would seem a simple tick box would do the trick. I would actually like to see the power box not ticked as this is a meaningless parameter. For example the power box can be ticked but the power data is zero. If the power box is not ticked then that would mean that the power data is actually shown as a green line. If that is the case then the power data must be correct as it is the actual power being measured. However it is a total faff to have to have the power box ticked. Why not make the power box not ticked also mean that the power data is not shown (i.e. only the green line is shown). At least then it would be consistent. For example, if it is not ticked then the power line should not show at all, if it is ticked then the power data should be shown so that the user can see if that is what they are supposed to be seeing. This is such a basic and important thing that is not being done and it can drive people mad in terms of the data files they receive. I can understand why Apple may not do it since it is a proprietary file format but this should be common sense. This would also allow the power data to be read by other software such as android and iphones etc etc. This can be done already but unfortunately it is not implemented in the various software manufacturers. I think I would need to make some more purchases to show the full extent of the problem that this not being done. Now it would be a relatively simple modification to the GPX files that are sent by the various TTS4 software boxes to turn on the error messages etc.
