I encourage interested readers to explore the ideas and activities presented in this section. Use of the listening materials and the link between listening and speaking can be exploited in a variety of ways and is potentially useful for many purposes. Although it is important to do more than think about these ideas, I do hope this section will motivate you to put some of these ideas into practice.
The two most common reasons for writing text are: 1) to summarize and/or paraphrase someone else's ideas, and 2) to help the reader understand some idea or topic. Therefore, most readers will gain the most benefit from a text if it enables them to accomplish one or the other of these goals. The main difference between the two types of reading is that when you summarize someone else's ideas, you are usually claiming that your summary is accurate and an accurate summary is usually likely to be true. The main difference between paraphrasing and summarizing is that paraphrase is assumed to be an accurate summary whereas summarizing is not. When you are summarizing, you are claiming that your summary is an accurate explanation of someone else's idea. When you are paraphrasing, you are claiming that the ideas you are using are different from the original idea, and that the ideas you are using are essentially the same as the original idea. The following are the main differences between summarizing and paraphrasing:
Summarizing is more common than paraphrasing. But paraphrase is more powerful than summarizing because paraphrase is used to argue that the ideas you are using are essentially the same as the original idea. When paraphrasing, the purpose is usually to persuade the reader that the ideas in the paraphrase are the same as the ideas in the original text, and sometimes to persuade the reader that the ideas in the paraphrase are better than the original ideas. Because summarizing does not involve the same type of persuasive argument, summarizing is not very persuasive. Instead, summarizing is usually used to explain, illustrate, or support the ideas in the original. In addition, it is often used to orient the reader to the ideas in the original. When paraphrasing, however, the goal is usually to argue that the ideas in the paraphrase are different from the ideas in the original.
Adobe Photoshop is a professional design tool for creating and editing raster graphics, bitmap images, and photographs. It is intended for professional and semi-professional users, and some users may make use of Photoshop as a basic image editing tool for personal use. The Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud 2019 (version 20) software was released on October 15, 2018. It adds new tools, features, and performance improvements for designing and editing photos, graphics, logos, and more. It features a new tool called Frame Tool to create placeholder frames for images, and it can now create layers for Photoshop brushes.
I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this? 827ec27edc
